The Brisbane Lions are considering a move for key Adelaide Crow Brodie Smith.

According to Caroline Wilson, Brisbane have Smith high on their target list during the trade/free agency period which stems from Smith's friendship with Brisbane's GM of Football David Noble.

“I'll tell you one player that’s on their list and that is Brodie Smith, he’s definitely on their list,” Wilson said on FIVEaa.

“He also had a pretty good relationship with David Noble.”

Former Crow Stephen Rowe added that the Lions had made contact with the Smith’s management over a potential deal.

Rowe would also be shocked to see Smith leave Adelaide after he signed a three-year deal last year.

“We know he’s very close to Charlie Cameron,” Rowe said.

“He’s got two years still to run on his contract. He’s got leadership aspirations. I think sitting here now he’d stay. If there’s no change at that football club, there’s a chance he could go.

“There’s a lot of people like Brodie Smith and names that are being picked off like cherries on a tree by other managers and clubs because of the position the Crows are in.

“It’s critical they get it right. He leaves, you may as well close the door.

“You build clubs around quality men like B.Smith. I was shattered when I heard that and he has been enquired about.”
