Collingwood has secured Tim Broomhead ahead of next week's NAB AFL Trade Period, re-signing the promising forward for two years.

Broomhead was due to come out of contract at the end of this month, but a Collingwood spokesperson confirmed to on Thursday the 22-year-old had agreed to a new deal that will keep him at the Holden Centre until the end of 2018.

The South Australian was the No.20 pick in the 2012 NAB AFL Draft but injuries have limited to him to just 21 games in four seasons with Collingwood.
