The official start of the 2025 Free Agency and Trade Period has begun, with plenty of stars of the competition set to join rival clubs.

Here is every move for the second day of the Trade and Free Agency period...

Sun sets on Fiorini as move to Bombers confirmed

Gold Coast midfielder Brayden Fiorini will join Essendon via a trade, despite his status as a free agent.

The Bombers want to hold onto their Sam Draper compensation (Pick 20), and will work through a trade with the Suns over the next 10 days.

Spargo follows father's footsteps to Arden Street

Melbourne premiership player Charlie Spargo has joined North Melbourne as a free agent.

Spargo falls under the unrestricted band for free agency and is therefore eligible to exercise his rights to move clubs with no restriction from the Demons.

Melbourne gained Pick 41 as compensation.

Port Adelaide signs wantaway Giant

Unrestricted free agent Jacob Wehr has signed with Port Adelaide officially. GWS will not receive any compensation for his departure.

The AFL assessed the compensation and found that the Giants would not receive any.

Wehr was drafted in 2020 by the Giants as a mature-age recruit, but was delisted by the club and re-listed.

Essendon confirm play for Suns midfielder

Essendon have confirmed Gold Coast free agent Brayden Fiorini remains "a player of interest", with the Suns midfielder expected to make a call on his future as early as Monday.

Fiorini is an unrestricted free agent who holds interest from both the Bombers and Port Adelaide, while the Suns remain keen on retaining the Northern Knights junior.

Essendon list manager Matt Rosa confirmed that the 28-year-old is in their sights five days out from the free agency deadline.

"Brayden is a player of interest for us," Rosa said.

"I've crossed paths with Brayden and know the high-end character that he is, and he played a really important role this year for the Suns on the wing.

"He is a player of interest, and we'll continue to work through and see how that one looks."

Hawk says make me a Swan

Out-of-contract Hawthorn defender Jai Serong has nominated the Sydney Swans as his preferred new home, per AFL Media's Callum Twomey, turning down strong interest from North Melbourne and Fremantle to go north of the Victorian border in 2026.

Serong had been heavily pursued by Fremantle, with senior coach Justin Longmuir meeting with the 21-year-old last week in a bid to lure him out west, using Serong's family connections as a ploy to persuade him.

However, it appears Jai is not interested in playing alongside his brother Caleb, and will instead join the Swans in the hopes of greater senior-level opportunities.

Carlton confirms interest in trio of rival players

Blues' list manager Nick Austin has confirmed reports of West Coast's Campbell ChesserWestern Bulldogs swingman Buku Khamis and Fremantle ruckman Liam Reidy all seeking trades to Princes Park.

Chesser and Reidy are both off-contract but will need to be traded, given they don't meet the free agency requirements, while Khamis is under contract.

"Focus for the trade period will be on building out that depth in positions of need," Austin said.

"Players we feel can come in straight away, have an impact and build out depth in areas of need (are what we're chasing).

"We've got some players already committed to the club, and we're looking to get deals done for those guys early on in the week.

"We're having dialogue with all three of those clubs, (they're) progressing well, and we'll keep those conversations nice and respectful.

"They're tracking in the right way, and we feel we'll be able to get a resolution there."
