The traditionally fierce rivalry will take a back seat, as both clubs honour a coach who meant so much to both teams.
Walsh was an integral member of the Power’s coaching panel in 2004 when Port Adelaide won their first ever AFL Premiership. He left for West Coast in 2009, before returning to Port in 2014.
Walsh then accepted the job as Adelaide senior coach for 2015.
The cheer squads from both clubs met on Monday night to discuss the idea.
The game, which is expected to be a sellout, will be broadcast on three big screens outside the stadium for fans who are unable to obtain a ticket.
