Port Adelaide will be without fringe ruckman Brynn Teakle for the coming weeks due to a foot injury.

The 23-year-old reported pain in his foot following last weekend's SANFL loss to North Adelaide, with the club identifying stress to the navicular bone.

The diagnosis will force Teakle out of action for the time being, with a moon boot required in the short term to help heal the ailment.

While only determined to be soreness and early signs of stress to Teakle's foot, a fracture to the navicular would require between six and 12 weeks on the sidelines.

Teakle's setback adds to a frustrating first 12 months at Alberton, having missed the second half of last year due to a broken collarbone sustained in his second game with the club. The East Fremantle product would play four consecutive games this season before falling out of selection plans for Round 10.

The injury to Teakle sees Ken Hinkley's key position stocks take another hit, having lost Mitch Georgiades (knee), Charlie Dixon (quad) and Todd Marshall (concussion) in recent weeks.

While Georgiades will miss the remainder of the season with an ACL injury, Marshall will return to play this weekend when the Power face Hawthorn on Saturday.

Dixon will require at least another week in recovery alongside veteran Travis Boak (ribs) after Hinkley confirmed Marshall as his sole incision for Round 12.

Both Jackson Mead and Francis Evans were omitted from Port Adelaide's squad for this weekend, however the duo are in contention for tactical sub duties after being named as emergencies alongside captain Tom Jonas and second-year utility Josh Sinn.

Hinkley will rely on Scott Lycett to take on a majority of the ruck workload against Hawthorn, with forward Jeremy Finlayson likely to play a supporting role as he balances his time between the forward third and midfield.

The Power will host Hawthorn at Adelaide Oval on Saturday at 1:15pm local time.
