Port Adelaide is expected to welcome back talented duo Jack Lukosius and Ollie Wines for the trip to Brisbane on Saturday.

The Power's 2025 season is hanging by a thread, and will need to continue their winning ways in order to make a meaningful push towards the finals.

The return of Lukosius and Wines to the senior side should help Ken Hinkley's chances of featuring in September, whilst also prolonging his time in the hot seat.

"We are always open for improvement; we are always wanting to get better," Hinkley said.

"Ollie Wines and Jack Lukosius look like they have got through training okay. If we can make the side better, we do. But we are reluctant to change winning teams. The reality is we have to get everything right from here to the end, and if Ollie and Jack are ready to go, we will pick them.

"We have decisions to make at selection (with a squeeze for spots). We have not been in that position often this year. It is nice to have a pretty healthy squad. It gives us a great chance.

"We have a really challenging draw. We know that. If we get a result at the Gabba, our confidence will build."

The Power have been decimated by injuries to key players for large sections of the year, with forward duo Todd Marshall and Lukosius sidelined, leaving the heavy lifting to Mitch Georgiades.

Hinkley, who will hand over the reins to Josh Carr at season's end, believes that the three-pronged attack of Lukosius, Georgiades and Marshall is a "pretty damaging group", and will hold the club's front half in good stead for years to come.

It has yet to be seen in full flight, and won't be until 2026.

Hinkley also didn't stop short in suggesting that recently re-signed star Miles Bergman won't be tasked with curbing the influence of Lions gun Lachie Neale, saying it "might be on the cards".

Bergman has been utilised in a defensive-minded midfield role on Jordan Dawson and Patrick Cripps this year, with Neale now in his sights.

"Miles is untapped. He is an outstanding player - it is a great result for lots of reasons. He can play in all sorts of positions."

The Power sit two games outside the top eight and has little room for error as the competition enters the home stretch of the season.

Hinkley's charges have clashed against West Coast, Hawthorn (away) and Adelaide to come in July, before Geelong (away), Fremantle, Carlton (away) and Gold Coast to complete the season.
