Old Dog signs contract extension

Western Bulldogs captain Robert Murphy will play a seventeenth season of AFL after agreeing to a one year contract extension at the Kennel.

The 32-year-old has enjoyed a rich vein of form since being appointed captain earlier this season.

The 271 game veteran told AFL.com.au that the desire to play on burns as brightly as ever.

“The Bulldogs and I are seemingly still in love, so we’ll go around again,” he said.

“I guess the expectation of myself is to keep lifting the horizons or the ambitions of the group,” Murphy said.

“It is a pretty ambitious group and to nurture that I guess and there are 101 ways you can do that.”

The Bulldogs have made a promosing start to season 2015, with four wins and three losses, after a disappointing 2014.
