Former Western Bulldogs and Richmond forward Nathan Brown has named the tip five kicks in the competition right now.

Speaking on Triple M's Rush Hour, Brown discussed how kicking in the game has gotten worse in recent years.

"Kicking in our game I don't think has improved for many, many years now," he said.

"I have put together what I think are the five best kicks in the competition right now."

Other players to feature on Brown's shortlist were Toby Greene, Shannon Hurn, Scott Pendlebury and Anthony McDonald-Tipungwuti.

Here is Brown's top five kicks in the competition right now:

5. Michael Walters

"With number five I've gone with Michael Walters. His foot skills through the midfield and being able to retain the ball inside 50. He's kicked 33 goals, 13 behinds."
