Murphy could be late exclusion for Blues

Marc Murphy may be a late exclusion, despite being named in the side to take on Adelaide on Saturday afternoon.

The Carlton captain made only a brief appearance at training as he battles a calf strain.

Murphy missed last week’s match against Sydney along with fellow stars Chris Judd and Bryce Gibbs.

The Carlton skipper did not run out with the main group for their final training session of the week this morning.

He joined the session later, however, only completed light drills and a few shots at goal, before heading back into the change rooms.

Teammate Troy Menzel also joined the session late and is in doubt after being subbed out with a knee injury against Sydney.

Meanwhile, the injury ravaged Gold Coast Suns have pulled Harley Bennell and Matt Shaw out of their side to face Sydney. They have been replaced in the selected side by Greg Broughton and Clay Cameron.

Midfielder Luke Russell is also in doubt as he battles a hip flexor injury and was restricted to walking laps at training this week.
