Richmond legend and SEN radio host Kevin Bartlett says that the Match Review Panel made the right decision suspending Bryce Gibbs for his tackle on Port Adelaide’s Robbie Gray.

“I don’t understand all the fuss over the penalty handed down to Bryce Gibbs,” Bartlett said.

“Fans and commentators get confused about what’s in the rule book & what they would like the rule to be.

“It’s clear, don’t sling tackle a player into the ground with a separate action.

“That’s guilty every day of the week, just read the rule book.

“If people don’t like the rule then canvass the change, but I can’t see how a player having his head smashed into the ground enhances the game.”
