Out-of-contract Demons forward Toby Bedford is said to have met with GWS on multiple occasions this off-season as he weighs up his future beyond 2022.

Bedford is yet to recommit to Melbourne and has garnered reported interest from the Giants, Roos and Bombers this year.

An exciting small forward talent, Bedford was commonly used as Simon Goodwin's medical sub this season, having been named as the sub in eight of his 16 matches for the year, and only being activated in two of those games. He was also a member of Casey's premiership-winning VFL side this season.

His place in the Demons' small forward's stocks comes behind premiership pair Kysaiah Pickett and Charlie Spargo in the selection queue, prompting rivals to begin circling.

The Giants have emerged as a keen suitor in the Rosebud product as they plan for life after Bobby Hill, who is expected to join Collingwood in the coming weeks.

According to AFL.com.au's Cal Twomey, Bedford has flown to New South Wales to meet with GWS, who are showing "significant interest" in the 22-year-old.

"He has significant interest from the Giants and my understanding [Bedord] was up in Sydney this week catching up with the Giants and has met with them a couple of times," Twomey revealed on Trade Radio.

"I like what he's been able to deal with. I mean, when he's coming in and played and actually started on the field, he's had a good impact.

He played 16 games this year, but probably half of them were as the medical sub. Sometimes it was activated, most of the time was not.

"He has some ability and also has a couple of small forwards in front of him at Melbourne, a member of that Next Generation Academy prgram and came through that the club that way and has strong ties to the footy club. So I think he's weighing up that decision at the moment which way he goes, but certainly interest from the Giants and a lot of interest from Melbourne to keep him too.

"...Of course the Giants are losing Bobby Hill, they've been after a small forward. Even if they kept Hill last year they were looking for small forward assistance as well. They eyed a couple in the draft, didn't end up taking them at the top end but Bedford clearly has been on their radar."

Bedford joined the Demons as the fourth last selection of the 2018 National Draft, remaining in the red and blue as an Academy selection for Melbourne.

Bedford is one of six Demons players yet to lock in a contract for 2023, with Jake Melksham, Michael Hibberd, Jayden Hunt, Oskar Baker and Luke Jackson also still unsigned.
