Teenage star and son of a gun Maurice Rioli Jnr has nominated Richmond as his preferred club of choice, with Essendon and Fremantle also in the running for the 18-year-old, per NT News

Rioli is eligible to join either the Tigers or the Dockers in next month's AFL draft under the father-son rule, as his dad, Maurice Snr, played with both Richmond and South Fremantle.

The Oakleigh Chargers and NTFL product is also a member of the Bombers' Next Generation Academy.

Fremantle are understood to have held several talks with the Tiwi Islander, but Rioli is set on joining cousin Daniel in the yellow and black.

Rival clubs are able to select on Rioli in the draft, with the Tigers able to match any bid to land him.
