Former club legend Mark Maclure believes Carlton’s spiritless performance in the loss to GWS should spell the end of coach Mick Malthouse at the Blues.

Carlton’s demoralising 78-point loss to GWS on Saturday evening was the team’s sixth in seven matches to start the year and their worst yet.

And, according to Maclure, the doomsday situation at the Blues will continue to engulf the club until Malthouse’s head is on the chopping block.

“Changes will be made,” Maclure told ABC Grandstand. “You can’t put up a performance like that and think you’re going to hang onto your job.
