Collingwood co-captain Stephanie Chiocci remains in some doubt to feature for the Magpies this weekend as they travel to Geelong on Friday night.

The 33-year-old was a late out for her side's Round 2 win over St Kilda, having sustained an Achilles injury that has kept her as a 'test' for the coming week.

Chiocci's absence opened an opportunity for forward Imogen Barnett to make her AFLW debut, however the Magpies tall suffered a back complaint during the match.

Collingwood are expecting Barnett to be fit for the club's Round 3 match against the Cats, although several other key names are set to miss the clash.

After recovering from concussion, young gun Tarni Brown will remain out of Steve Symonds' lineup for this weekend after being placed under the AFL's health and safety protocols.

The 19-year-old featured in the Magpies' season opener against Carlton, where she collected five disposals two marks and five tackles before suffering a head knock.

Duo Erica Fowler and Bella Smith are also battling concussion, with the former ruled out of this week's encounter at the Cattery.

Smith remains a chance to feature however, with the club continuing to assess her health throughout the week.

The latest string of setbacks add to Symonds' growing changes this season, with star duo Chloe Molloy (health and safety protocols) and Brianna Davey (ACL) also absent from Round 2, with Davey's season having been brought to an end following her knee injury.

The Magpies are scheduled to face Geelong at GMHBA Stadium at 7:10pm on Friday night as they chase their third win from three games.
