Collingwood list manager Derek Hine says that talented young stars Matthew Scharenberg and Nathan Freeman could re-sign with the club within a fortnight.

The highly-rated pair were the club’s first round draft picks in the 2013 National Draft.

Hine said on AFL Media’s Road to the Draft podcast, that an announcement on the future of the duo would be imminent.

“We’re working with both managements at the moment so hopefully we get that sorted out in the not-too-distant future,” Hine said.

Hine was asked if he could provide an exclusive for the podcast regarding the deals and replied by saying, “You’ll have to get me back in a couple of weeks.”

Scharenberg and Freeman are yet to make their debuts with the club, with injuries keeping them on the sidelines during their first year at the Westpac Centre.
