It has been revealed that "there is plenty of smoke around Tarryn Thomas" and a potential move this off-season.

Selected with Pick 8 of the 2018 National Draft, Thomas displayed some positive form throughout the 2021 season, averaging 18 disposals, 5 marks and polling 5 Brownlow votes.

In 2022 however, he failed to earn a consistent spot in the lineup, managing only 10 games for the season and being omitted from the starting 22 throughout the year.

Despite signing an extension with the Kangaroos until the end of 2024 earlier in the year, SEN's Sam Edmund suspects “he has been wrestling with requesting a trade out of North Melbourne".

While no announcement has been made, Thomas' uncertainty has been rumoured for some time, with Edmund reporting that he was "gettable" even before the Clarkson acquisition.

“At the moment it hasn't happened but that's a live watch at North Melbourne considering everything that is going on then”, Edmund said on SEN Breakfast.

Sydney, where Thomas has close family, have expressed interest over the season and see him as a player of immense value. Gold Coast have also shown interest.

The news comes the day after number one pick Jason Horne-Francis' trade request to Port Adelaide.
