Adelaide coach Don Pyke has indicated the possibility of a round one debut for 19-year-old Chayce Jones.

Pyke said on Triple M Adelaide this morning that Jones "was a chance" to be selected to face Hawthorn on Saturday at Adelaide Oval.

"He's hit the ground running," Pyke said, "he's done everything right so far."

Pyke says midfielder Hugh Greenwood will work his way back into the side after undergoing minor surgery on his achilles last November.

"He will play SANFL again this weekend.

"He only came back into training only four weeks ago and probably needs one or two full games to get back to full match fitness."

Furthermore, Adam Simpson revealed that Josh Kennedy will not travel to Brisbane to face the Lions after failing to recover from shoulder surgery. He will be joined by Jamie Cripps (toe) and likely Willie Rioli (foot).

Oscar Allen, Jack Petruccelle and Jarrod Brander are all in line to come in for the team.

Star Giant Josh Kelly is racing the clock to be fit after facing an interrupted pre-season after undergoing knee surgery over the summer. It would deal a major blow for GWS, who will already without Callan Ward (knee).

North Melbourne confirmed that father-son prospect Bailey Scott will make his debut, while the Saints will bring in mature ager Matt Parker.

Stay tuned on Zero Hanger for the round one teams to drop tonight after 6:25pm AEST.
