Richmond midfielder Kane Lambert and small forward Dan Butler have both signed two-year contract extensions that will see them remain Tigers until at least the end of the 2019 season.

The pair have both been important pieces in a season that could possibly see Richmond earn the double chance come finals time, with Butler excelling in his debut year at the club.

He debuted in the opening game of the season against Carlton and has gone on to kick 24 goals in 19 matches, and has also earned himself a Rising Star nomination.

Lambert, who has missed just one game in 2017 so far, is averaging 21.3 disposals, 3.6 marks, 4.9 tackles and 3.8 inside 50s per game this season.

“Both Kane and Dan have experienced great seasons in 2017 and we are pleased they have committed to the Club for at least the next two years,” Richmond general manager of football talent Dan Richardson told richmondfc.com.au.

“Kane’s story is quite remarkable – he has worked his way up the VFL ranks, to the Rookie Draft and now playing consistent AFL football.

“Dan has also shown great perseverance and after making his debut in Round 1 – he has played 19 senior games this year.

“They have both taken big steps forward this season and we look forward watching their development over the next two years.”
