Melbourne star ruckman Max Gawn is fit to take on the Swans this weekend amid reports of an injury scare.

The 26-year old was seen walking laps at training on Thursday morning at Gosch's Paddock and did not participate in any drills with the main group.

It was believed that Gawn could be suffering from a calf issue.

But Demons coach Simon Goodwin has revealed that the All-Australian big man is fit and ready to go for Sunday's crunch meeting with Sydney at the MCG.

"He’s just having a light week," Goodwin told reporters.

"He’ll train fully on Saturday and he will play on Sunday. We’re really confident about that."
