Injured Bulldog Jason Johannisen will miss most of the rest of the season after suffering a serious hamstring injury in the Dogs' win over Carlton on Saturday night.

Running backman Johannisen, who has been one of the Bulldogs' best players this season, injured his hamstring in the third quarter after kicking a long goal from outside 50 and sat out the remainder of the game.

Herald Sun reporter Jay Clark has reported that Johannisen will miss undergo surgery and will miss the next four months.

The Bulldogs suffered a horror night on the injury front, with Tom Boyd missing the final minutes of the match due to a shoulder injury, while Bulldogs listed youngster Josh Prudden suffered an ACL injury during Footscray's VFL clash with Richmond earlier on Saturday afternoon.
