Jeffrey 'Joffa' Corfe has pleaded guilty to a child sexual abuse charge in Victoria's County Court on Monday.

Corfe was arrested in May 2021, denying the charges levelled against him by Victorian authorities, alleging he twice sexually abused a 14-year-old boy in 2015.

The 62-year-old appeared on Wednesday via video link from Queensland, where the court heard that he used an alias to communicate with the boy through MSN, prior to inviting him to his house to meet.

Corfe submitted a guilty plea, with his legal counsel asking the court for a suspended jail sentence.

Prosecutors argued that Corfe should be jailed, with his defence lawyer pointing to his heath issues, childhood and lack of further offending as reasons the 62-year-old should receive a more lenient sentence.

Corfe will return to court in Melbourne in February next year.
