Murray Bushrangers key forward Liam Hetherton's impressive pair of performances in representative matches last year have shaped the 195cm teenager as a promising prospect for the 2025 AFL draft.

The dynamic goalkicking threat is the subject ofย Craft of the Draft's third episode of the 'Introducing' series, dissecting a prospect's leading traits and attributes ahead of their draft campaign.

Hetherton's knack for finding the goals and forward craft, as well as his work rate to commit to second efforts, has seenย Craft of the Draftย analyst Jonty Ralphsmith tip Hetherton to be the Coates Talent League leading goalkicker this season.

"(Hetherton) is part of a conga line of talls for AFL recruiters to keep an eye on this year... The reason I've got Liam Hetherton as my leading goalkicker is I think he's set himself a really strong platform and I think there's a lot of assets to like about his game," Ralphsmith said.

"He kicked five goals and was the difference, really, between the two teams [NSW/ACT and Vic Country], and he really stood up when it mattered.

"He showed that he could take contested marks, he showed a couple of different ways that he could impact the game, both aerially and at ground level, in a really dominant performance for a 195cm player, and he really owned the responsibility of being the main man in that forward line."
