Richmond skipper Trent Cotchin could miss his side's clash with Port Adelaide next week due to a hamstring problem.

The 29-year old suffered the injury during the third quarter of the Tigers' loss to GWS on Saturday, adding to a long list of casualties at the club.

Jayden Short (elbow) also hurt himself against the Giants, joining Alex Rance (knee reconstruction), Jack Riewoldt (wrist) and Bachar Houli (hamstring) on the sidelines.

Additionally, Dustin Martin has landed himself in hot water in the MRO for an incident behind play, placing him in doubt for next week.

Richmond coach Damien Hardwick was not willing to dwell on the loss of Cotchin and Short.

"It's disappointing but we move on, and look for someone to replace them," Hardwick told reporters post-match.

"That’s what presents itself these times of player loss, it gives two more players an opportunity to step up and play some games for the Richmond footy club."
