Hill set to leave Hawks

Brad Hill appears set to leave Hawthorn for Fremantle, but Hawks’ coach Alastair Clarkson says he won’t let the triple premiership player go easily.

Hill met with Fremantle coach Ross Lyon last week and Clarkson said he was aware of the chat and the pull of family and friends for Hill in Western Australia, including playing with brother Stephen at the Dockers.

The 23-year-old has had an indifferent season on the field and off it, after he was involved in an altercation that resulted in a 12-month good behaviour bond. He was also caught driving while his licence was suspended.

“We’ve been aware of it for four to five weeks, Bradley’s spoke to us about it,” Clarkson said.

“He’s contracted until the end of next year and we’re not going to let him go easily by any stretch.”
