Hawthorn have signed former Saint Darren Minchington as a delisted free agent for the 2019 season.

Minchington played 28 games for St Kilda after being taken with pick 65 in the 2011 Rookie Draft, but was hampered by injuries throughout his career.

Hawthorn National Recruiting Manager Mark McKenzie had faith in Minchington reaching his potential as an AFL player.

“Darren has been unlucky with injury during his career, but we have seen him excel in the VFL despite these challenges,” McKenzie told the club website.

“Darren is a young man of great character and we look forward to working with him to maximise his full potential.”
