Collingwood ruckman Brodie Grundy has been charged for striking Geelong midfielder Patrick Dangerfield in the first quarter of their qualifying final on Friday night.

Grundy was handed a $3000 fine by the Match Review Officier, after the incident was graded as Intentional Conduct with Low Impact and Body Contact.

If Grundy takes the early guilty plea, he can accept a $2000 fine.
