Greater Western Sydney forward Rory Lobb is in doubt for Saturday's clash with Gold Coast due to a knee injury.

Lobb sat out the final term of the Giants' win over Richmond, after landing awkwardly on his leg.

He had his knee strapped and his ankle covered in a protective boot.

He has been cleared of any structural damage to his ankle, however, he has suffered a grade one strain to his medial collateral ligament in his knee.

Despite the injury, the Giants remain hopeful Lobb will be available this weekend.

“We’ll monitor Rory closely over the next 48 hours but are not expecting an extended lay off,” GWS Head of Athletic Performance David Joyce said.

“The MCL injury is at the minor end of the scale, but we’ll take a cautious approach as we look to get Rory back on field.”
