Despite being contracted for 2021, Clayton Oliver's name has continued to rise in trade discussions, with Carlton reportedly interested in the Melbourne star.

Reports have suggested Oliver might be keen on a trade away from the Demons, with Melbourne great Garry Lyon looking to put those rumours to rest.

“A lot of stuff comes across our desk in the job that we do and (the Oliver rumour) kept coming on my desk and I kept laughing and then my sons started messaging me so I thought bugger this and picked up the phone,” Lyon told AFL Nation.

“Neither Melbourne, neither Carlton, neither the manager has mentioned Clayton Oliver in any way shape or form.

“That’s the response there. In fact, the guy I spoke to said he would run naked around the Tan if it happened.”

Oliver enjoyed another sensational season in the red and blue, playing 17 games and averaging 25 disposals per match.
