Fremantle have invited Sam Stubbs and Liam Serong to join the club over the ongoing pre-season, with hopes of filling a currently vacant rookie list spot.

Stubbs is a 25-year-old medium-sized forward from the Perth Football Club who kicked 23 goals across 12 matches this season.

Serong is the 18-year-old brother of Caleb who stands at 193cm and was a key position player for the Gippsland Power in 2022. After an injury-hampered start to the NAB League season, Serong impressed recruiters and is now in consideration for a Supplementary Selection Period pickup if the Dockers wish to use it.

Fremantle's General Manager of Football, Peter Bell said that the possibility of selection at the mid-season draft remains as a backup plan.

“We've welcomed Sam and Liam to train with us this pre-season as two of our options to fill our vacant rookie spot,” Bell mentioned.

“If they are not added in the SSP, they would also be in consideration in the mid-season draft.”

Fremantle will hope one of these two can add depth to Fremantle's list over the next few years as they seek to enter the premiership window.
