Former Richmond premiership defender Alex Rance is set to make his football comeback with Perth club Swan Valley in 2021, per The Herald Sun

The 2015 Tigers' best and fairest will join the Perth Football League C2-Grade club in May for two games, before planning to return to the club to play out five total matches and qualify for the competition's finals series.

Rance will play under former Carlton midfielder David Ellard, who has been appointed as a player-coach at Swan Valley.

Ellard, a close friend to Rance, played 63 matches for the Blues between 2008-2015 and has returned to his junior club, where he played alongside Rance.

Rance decided to leave the Tigers at the end of the 2019 season, concluding his 200-game career in the yellow and black where he won five All-Australian selections.
