Former Brisbane forward Jonathan Freeman has been involved in one of the most peculiar incidents on a football field, which resulted in him being bitten by a dog.
Freeman plays for the Noosa Tigers in the QAFL, and on Saturday, against Surfers Paradise Demons, Freeman received some extra attention from over the fence, with a dog making its way onto the field.
Footage showed the 31-year-old surprised when he turned around and was met with a dog biting around his ankle, before attempting to continue the play and kick at goal.
He was sent to the bench and assessed by the club's doctors, who thought it was best to be sent to hospital.
"Who would've thought this would happen in a game of footy," the statement on Instagram said.
"In one of the more unexpected moments of the season, Noosa Captain Jono Freeman copped a bite mid-game - yes, from an actual dog (and almost kicked the goal).
"He went to hospital as a precaution and got the all clear. He's doing fine, just maybe steering clear of the dog park for a bit 😅🫣."

Freeman played 14 games for Brisbane, kicking 16 goals after he was drafted with Pick 62 in the 2013 National Draft.
He was at the club from 2014 to 2017 and was delisted following his short stint.
After stints at WAFL and NEAFL clubs, Freeman has returned to the QAFL league, kicking 31 majors from 15 outings for Noosa this year.
