With Matt Rowell out for the season, the Rising Star race is heating up.

Former Fremantle star Paul Hasleby and Sportsday WA co-host Karl Langdon have had their say on who should win the award.

Will it be a Gold Coast Suns player who wins the Rising Star for the first time? Langdon thinks so.

Langdon believes Suns young gun Noah Anderson take out the honour.

“You could probably give it to Matt Rowell on the back of the few games he played," he said on Sportsday WA.

"He’s certainly able to be kept in the discussion but because he played less than 10 games they’ll keep him up their sleeve for next year.

“That’s why I believe it will be Noah Anderson who is crowned the Rising Star.”

Hasleby predicts Fremantle's Caleb Serong will in it.

“I’ve been super impressed since he’s gone into the team. He had a later start which may hurt him come the announcement of the award but he’s going at 16 disposals per game.

"What I like is he’s played on the best players in the comp and beats them.” Hasleby on Sportsday WA.
