Adelaide star Eddie Betts has been ruled out of Sunday’s clash with Collingwood due to appendicitis.

The 30-year-old was admitted to hospital last and had surgery to remove his appendix.

“Eddie fell unwell on Sunday evening and was sent to hospital,” Adelaide senior medial officer Dr Marc Cesana said.

“He will not play this weekend as he recovers from surgery and the Club will continue to monitor his health before a decision is made on his availability.”

The Magpies host the Crows at the MCG on Sunday afternoon.
