Richmond superstar Dustin Martin has been discharged from hospital after spending over a week recovering from a significant kidney injury.

The superstar suffered the injury in the Tigers win over Brisbane when colliding with Lions wingman Mitch Robinson.

Martin will remain in Queensland as he recovers from the season-ending injury.

The Tigers today released a statement stating that the three-time Norm Smith medalist had been released.

"Richmond advises Dustin Martin has been discharged from hospital and will remain in Queensland as he recovers from the significant kidney injury he sustained in the Round 18 match against the Brisbane Lions at The Gabba," the statement said.

The injury to Richmond's main man has put a serious dent in the Tigers hope to defend their crown with their injury list continuing to derail their campaign.
