Adelaide Crows defender Kyle Hartigan has been traded to Hawthorn for a future fourth-round pick.

The 28-year old played 113 games for the Crows over eight seasons after making his AFL debut in 2013.

Hawks Chief of Football Graham Wright was excited to see Hartigan sure up the club's defensive stocks.

“We’re really excited to have Kyle on board ahead of the 2021 season,” Wright told the club website.

“He’s got a young family, and he and his wife Emily were keen to return to Melbourne with their daughter Hazel. We’re pleased to have been the beneficiary of this move.

“Kyle’s been a quality key defender for the Crows for a number of years and will be a handy addition to our back stocks.

“We’re excited to see what Kyle can produce in the brown and gold jumper in years to come.”

Crows Head of Football Adam Kelly thanked Hartigan for his contributions to the club.

“Kyle is a quality individual who has consistently given his all both on and off the field during his eight seasons with the Club,” he told the club website.

“He has worked tirelessly with the Adelaide Crows Foundation and will always be a part of the Crows family.

“We wish Kyle, Emily and Hazel all the very best for their move to Victoria.”
