St Kilda has traded Josh Bruce to the Dogs, with the two clubs coming to an agreement on a deal late on Wednesday afternoon.

The Dogs have handed the Saints picks 32 and 51 for the forward.

The 27-year-old has played 99 games for the Saints and 113 across his career - after 14 at GWS - and has booted 171 goals over his eight seasons in the AFL.

โ€œWe felt we needed to add an experienced key forward to our mix and Josh certainly fits that category,โ€ General Manager of List and Recruiting, Sam Power told the club's website.

โ€œHe has been a consistent player now at AFL level for a number of seasons.

โ€œJosh is a good athlete who competes well. He is a strong contested mark who consistently hits the scoreboard, as he has shown by kicking 36 or more goals in four of the past five years.

โ€œHe will be a great support to our young key forwards in Aaron Naughton and Josh Schache, and we are confident they can all work well together in the same team.โ€
