Adelaide have ruled out the possibility of wearing their clash guernsey in next Saturday's Grand Final, saying they've earned the right to wear what they please after finishing the home and away season as the minor premiers.

The issue was brought up by a number of experts during the week, as a potential Adelaide vs. Richmond decider would see the two sides clash should they both be wearing their home strips.

When the two sides met in round six earlier this season in Adelaide, it was the Tigers who had to wear their predominately yellow guernsey to avoid a clash.

Crows chief executive Andrew Fagan told AFL Nation radio his side would not change guernseys next Saturday, as they have earned the right to choose first.

“There’s no way that would happen,” Fagan replied on AFL Nation radio when asked if the Crows would move away from their traditional guernsey.

“I’ll leave that to the AFL ... (but) in 2010 and 2013 they made the decisions that the highest-placed/ranked team wore the home jumper when there was a clash and I would expect them to make the same decision.”

AFL CEO Gillon McLachlan said during the week a potential guernsey clash could result in a simple coin toss to determine who gets to wear their home strip, but Fagan suggested the AFL shouldn't stoop to that level.

“I would think we have moved passed that as an industry,” Fagan said.

“The AFL should just make the call and make the right one at that.”
