Former college basketball star Hugh Greenwood has joined the Adelaide Crows on a two-year contract.

The 23-year-old Australian has spent the past four years playing US college basketball at the University of New Mexico, before signing with the NBL’s Perth Wildcats in June.

However, Greenwood sensationally quit the Wildcats a little over a month into his three-year contract to pursue an AFL career.

He has been training with the Crows for two weeks and has signed on as a category B rookie on a two-year contract.

The 23-year-old was a talented junior footballer, representing Tasmania at Under 16 level and was offered both a basketball and football scholarship at the Australian Institute of Sport.
