Geelong superstar Patrick Dangerfield could face eight weeks on the sidelines as his ankle injury is believed to be worse than first thought.
The Cats midfielder sustained the injury in the third term of Sunday's win over North Melbourne, with the 31-year-old failing to finish in the match.
AFL.com.au reported on Tuesday that the club have been sweating on the results of scans, with Dangerfield potentially in line to be sidelined for "multiple weeks".

It is understood that the Cats veteran has suffered a syndesmosis tear, with the latest reports by SEN suggesting the Brownlow medallist could miss the next two months of action should Geelong opt for surgery.
