A passionate Geelong fan has decided to get a permanent reminder of the club's 2022 successes tattooed onto his head following their premiership win.

The Cats claimed their 10th V/AFL premiership in late September with an 81-point win over Sydney at the MCG, a perfect farewell for captain Joel Selwood, who announced his retirement from the game earlier this off-season.

Geelong's premiership lineup now holds the record for the oldest team fielded in an AFL game, including home and away matches, coming in at an average age of 28 years and 173 days.

The term 'too old, too slow, too good', was commonly used by Cats fans during Geelong's celebrations, with the club's own media team using the term in a post soon after the final siren on September 25.

Geelong players even went as far as to dress up as elderly citizens for Mad Monday, again proving to be among the best when it comes to post-season celebrations.

But one fan looks to have taken it all to a new level, with 78-year-old Lochie Keats deciding to get a tattoo on his head to celebrate Geelong's latest premiership triumph.

After getting the words 'too good, too slow, too old, Go Cats, 2022 premiers' inked on his head with a texta, Keats was offered a $50 bet to get the text permanently tattooed on his head.

It was a wager he would accept.

"We went to the bowls club and had a few beers and he said 'I bet you $50 you're not game to put it on permanently' and I said 'you're on'," Keats told The Standard."

"I used to wear a hat all the time and I wore a hat for 10 days after and my wife (Heather) didn't see it."

Keats, a Warrnambool local, will be hoping his beloved Cats can do it again next year, although it'll have to be without champion skipper Joel Selwood.
