The Western Bulldogs have re-emerged as a serious contender for want-away Essendon player Jake Carlisle.

The Bulldogs were linked with Carlisle for much of the season, however, were believed to have lost interest in the 23-year-old.

However, the Dogs are now believed to once again be interested in securing his services, with defender Michael Talia yet to re-commit to the club.

St Kilda, North Melbourne and Carlton are understood to be the other interested parties.
