Collingwood Chief Gary Pert says the club will re-sign Nathan Buckley as soon as possible after a brilliant start to the 2015 season.
Pert told the Herald Sun over the weekend that a new deal for Pies’ coach was inevitable.
Buckley is contracted until the end of next season, but he could be offered a new deal as early as this summer, with Collingwood keen to eliminate any unwanted scrutiny.
“There is no doubt that Nathan Buckley is the person to lead this whole program, which we are just at the start of,” Pert said.
“I expect him to coach the Darcy Moores and the Jordan De Goeys all the way through this journey.
“He is coaching and leading the club magnificently.
“So, there are no conversations about it (contract) yet, but as a board, we couldn’t be happier or more excited with where things are at.”
