The Brisbane Lions are reportedly investigating Irishman Pearce Hanley for being involved in an altercation on Sunday afternoon, according to The Age.

Hanley and a friend reportedly began play-fighting at five o'clock in the afternoon after the pair watched the UFC at a pub in Queensland.

However, the altercation is said to have escalated quite quickly and "became a little too willing".

The Age says it is unclear whether or not Hanley was under the influence of alcohol.

The club is reviewing CCTV footage of the incident to confirm the version of events they have been told and to determine whether or not any sanction should be given to Hanley.
