Brisbane is confident they'll be able to get the reps in before Saturday's grand final replay against Sydney despite not being able to train for large chunks of the past week.

The Lions were supposed to kick off 2025 with a clash at the Gabba against Geelong in Opening Round, but due to the Tropical Cyclone Alfred, the game was postponed until Round 3.

A ripple effect of the ongoing natural disaster is the club's inability to train at full capacity, with Brisbane GM of Football Danny Daly revealing the players haven't been on the track since Wednesday.

The Lions players returned to the club on Monday, but were forced to train indoors.

"We had a hit out on Wednesday, anticipating the storm cyclone on Thursday, which it didn't," Daly said on Monday.

"The players have been unable to do anything since last Wednesday. We've got them back into the club today and they'll have a hit-out indoors and get themselves up and going again.

"But, we've just got to see what's ahead in the next 24 hours in terms of where we can train tomorrow."

Daly remained confident following a strong pre-season that the Brisbane players will be prepared for the Swans clash at the SCG.

However, the Lions are looking at heading to the neighbouring state earlier than normal to ensure they get an extra session in before the highly-anticipated contest.

"I've been chatting to the AFL today and they've been fantastic through this whole past week in accommodating our needs," Daly added.

"We'll train somewhere tomorrow, whether that's the Gabba or at Brighton Homes Arena. They're both pretty waterlogged at the minute. But we need to get a hit-out for our players.

"We'll head to Sydney on Wednesday, and get a training session somewhere in Sydney on Thursday, on dry ground as preparation for the game on Saturday.

"Just working through the logistical information."

Daly suggested the way the AFL and all 18 clubs navigated through COVID-19 during 2020 and 2021 gave them a good understanding of how to deal with the latest delay.
