Western Bulldogs captain Bob Murphy will play on in 2017.

Murphy signed a contract extension yesterday to play on into an 18th AFL season.

“I’ve still got the passion to play and obviously, there’s unfinished business for this team and our Club,” Murphy said.

“To have your Club in your corner, saying that they really want you to play again can’t be underestimated.”

“I feel like I can get back to playing good footy, and I still feel like I’ve got something to offer. I miss it, I miss playing with those boys.”

The 33-year-old had been weighing up his future, after his 2016 campaign was cut short after he ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament in Round 3 against Hawthorn.

Murphy has played 295 career games with the Bulldogs since making his debut in Round 19, 2000 against Carlton.
