GWS will be without star rebounding defender Lachie Whitfield until at least after the bye, with Giants coach Leon Cameron confirming he underwent surgery on a broken collarbone.
Whitfield sustained the injury during the last quarter of his side's win over the Suns on Saturday, and will now miss at least a month of football.
