Essendon speedster Adam Saad is expected to put an end to speculation about his future and re-sign with the club.

The out-of-contract Bomber is said to have attracted interest from Carlton but is now set to renew his contract with the Bombers, according to AFL Media's Damian Barrett.

“I fully expect Adam Saad to now stay,” Barrett said on Channel 9’s Sunday Footy Show.

“We know that there are good offers for him to leave but in the last week or so I think Essendon have done enough to keep him, that’s the way I’m reading it right now.”

The news isn't as bright for Joe Daniher and Orazio Fantasia who are tipped to leave the Bombers at the end of the season.

Daniher is a restricted free agent, while Fantasia is contracted until the end of 2021.

“I still don’t see either (Orazio) Fantasia or Joe (Daniher) staying,” Barrett said.

“Daniher has had two years to work himself out, when he asks for a week of downtime, we know that usually means he’s in discussions with a team in the finals.”
