Geelong big man Mark Blicavs is close to signing a contract extension at the Cats that will see him earn a significant pay rise.
Geelong want to secure the ruckman sooner rather than later, as he is reportedly being watched closely by several clubs including Richmond, Greater Western Sydney and West Coast.
The former steeple-chasers’ incredible rise to stardom has seen him play 52 games since making his debut in 2013, despite not playing any competitive football since under-14s before being selected as a rookie by the Cats in 2012.
The Herald Sun has reported that Geelong is putting the finishing touches on a long term offer for the 24-year-old, who is currently on a modest deal given it is his first official year on Geelong’s senior list.
