Eddie Betts’ manager Ned Guy has met with the AFL integrity department today as the league starts its investigation into contract negotiations between Adelaide and the small forward.

Mick Malthouse announced yesterday morning on SEN Radio that former Crows CEO Steven Trigg claimed Adelaide and Betts had made an agreement 18 months prior to the former Blue joining the club, prompting the AFL to look into the contract negotiations.

Under AFL regulations, a player cannot sign for another club while still under contract.

Both Adelaide and Trigg denied the claims yesterday, as the news became a side story to Mick’s inevitable sacking from Carlton.
