With the AFL's new AFLX proposal looking to debut during the bye weekend between round 23 and the finals this season for the teams who finished outside the top eight, we've decided to help out each club's selectors and try our hand at picking a squad.

We've taken a look at the main AFLX parameters and have selected our squads with that in mind, meaning most sides will go into the tournament without a ruckman.

AFLX would be played on soccer-sized pitches, and teams would have seven players on the field with three on the bench, meaning we've selected a squad of 10 players for each side.

Quarters would run for no longer than 10 minutes and there would be no centre bounces, with kick-ins following each goal.

As a loose guideline, we decided to play with one key forward and some crumbing attackers, with one key defender and some strong ball users coming out of the backline.

Midfielders who can swing down back or up forward have been included in most sides, given their flexibility around the ground.

So after taking everything into account, here are our AFLX squads for every club.

Note: The following squads have not taken current injuries into account, meaning we have assumed each player is fit and just chosen the best possible line-up to fit the format.
